Development Coordinator

Homestart seeks a Development Coordinator to support our fund raising strategy for securing and maintaining grant funding, donations, sponsorships, impact investments and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) relationships. Duties include: researching fund raising opportunities in existing and new geographical markets; preparing data and narrative to support grant and investment proposal development and submission; coordinating grant, donation, and investment communications appropriately so that constituents are satisfied, relationships are maintained, and fund raising goals are met.

This position requires excellent written communication skills. Applicant should be an energetic self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently with little or no supervision.  Candidate must be highly organized with ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects, and must be able to communicate effectively with team members.  A college degree is required plus at least 2 years of experience in development, fund raising, and/or grant writing. Homestart seeks a Home Purchase Advisor to prepare potential homeowners to make informed decisions in purchasing a home. This individual must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; must be goal oriented; must demonstrate leadership based on ability to inspire, motivate and engage commitment from others; must listen to understand others’ viewpoints.  Applicant must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Solid understanding of financial coaching and a customer service orientation are required. High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
